Annoying web browser hijack usa-aa.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com /?grp=9

Hello,

About Christmas I contracted this web browser hijack,

h**p://usa-aa.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com /?grp=9 that then is redirected to http://www-search.info/?originaloriginalsrc="us

It must be new because I can't find a way to remove it.

I have Windows 8.1 and my Defender is active and I run Malicious Software Removal Tool regularly.

I think this should be added to one of the Windows tool in the tool box.

I have found some site that offer to remove it but I am reluctant to bite, I feel this maybe the same group the released the virus in the first place. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You

RC

Hi RC,

Please try this free, multi-step removal guide: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/www-search-info-removal/

If you can't do a step, move on with the next steps.

Note: Step 4 (Hitman Pro) might not be necessary.

Cheers,

J

Answer

I have followed your suggestion, but it is still the same.

I did get a suggestion from my 14 year old nephew.

1. In add / remove Programs go to Turn Window features on or off

2. Uncheck IE11

3. Reboot

4. Cleanup all files, run defrag, clean registry.

5. Reboot

6. Go back to Turn Windows features on and off, check IE11

7. Reboot

This surprisingly WORKED. I have a clean startup of my IE11 right to my desired home page.

With no sidetracks to other sites.

Thank You, for your suggestions.
