Uninstall Security Essentials for windows 10

Hey, I just upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7. I was using Microsoft security essentials but since windows 10 has defender I want to get rid of essentials, however every way I have tried to uninstall it, just gives me an error code that tells me I don't need to install it, which is great, because I want to uninstall it.

Anywho, everything on google/bing tells you how to uninstall for windows 7 and 8 but nothing for 10 :(

It should have been removed before you upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Yours is the second report I've seen that says that this was not the case. Is it listed in Programs? Or are you simply seeing it on the Start menu? It won't run on Windows 10 (or 8). If it is listed as an installed program, you may be able to rip it out using one of the solutions in this wiki:  Uninstalling Microsoft Security Essentials

If it is simply showing on the Start Menu, delete the shortcut.

EDITED to add the following Answer from Microsoft:

If Security Essentials is still installed and running on the machine post upgrade to Windows 10- please execute the following command from an elevated command prompt (Search > cmd.exe > (Right-Click) > 'Run as Administrator')

MsiExec.exe /X{75812722-F85F-4E5B-BEAF-3B7DA97A40D5}

A dialog box will prompt you to continue.

This will start the uninstall and automatically enable Windows Defender.

You could try to uninstall MSE from Windows 10 with  RevoUninstaller (Revo Free.)

Or try AppRemover (which can scan for and remove multiple anti-malware products):

Or you might try this method http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/protect_other-protect_start/i-cant-uninstall-microsoft-security-essentials/3743598b-7b24-476b-ae61-1922f41836d4?page=2

If nothing works, I suggest to roll back to Win 7, then uninstall MSE and then to do the upgrade to Win 10 again.
