Security Essentials v4.2.223.1 on an amd64 [x64 MSE English Corrupt Download (2/22/13)]

I just rebuilt an emachines with an amd64 chip and updated the install on Windows 7 Home Premium. I attempted to install Microsoft Security Essentials v4.2.223.1. It downloads and begins extraction. I get a File is Corrupt message when it is attempting to extract amd64\Windows6.0-KB981889-v2.msu To Dir c\f6ccb3e900cfd1f6cdf8329b13dca

I tried several times so am confident that the file was received correctly. Any suggestions?

Hi BillC39. I have a solution for you.

The only solution, actually an authentic one, is to run Windows Update/Microsoft Update and look for Microsoft Security Essentials in the optional updates. Click install update and you are ready to go.

Note: After the completion of the installation process, let Microsoft Security Essentials update its definitions.

I hope this information helps.
