Microsft Security Essential and Lenovo ThinkPad T61p laptop

shaheen.gh asked on

I was using Microsoft Security Essential (MSE) on my Lenovo ThinkPad T61p laptop without any problem and in fact it was doing a pretty good job. After I did the new upgrade for MSE (a message showed up in the MSE for the upgrade), now it takes forever for my laptop to load a page in Internet Explorer. Also the system has been slowed down dramatically. When I undo the upgrade using system restore, everything goes back to normal. I uninstalled the MSE and installed it from the website again and the problem is still there. Any ideas or comments? I am running windows XP 32bit SP3 and the laptop is updated regularly.

Thanks!

Thanks Steve for the suggestion.

I found the problem. It was interfering with my old CA eTrust Anti Virus. I just unistalled it and everything became ok.

Thanks,
