That unfortunately isn't enough to pin down the problem and the best way to resolve it. Please provide your operating system (e.g., 32-bit Vista Business SP2 - and yes, that much detail). Please provide the EXACT AND ENTIRE error message
word-for-word including any codes. I expect you to be in including 0x80070643 or 0x80040609 or 0x80070641 as part of the message (or more than one or perhaps something else entirely though these are the most common).
What security programs are currently installed on your system (every name and the version number of each)? Include them even if you don't use them or never have used them. Please indicate the ones of those you are actually using. Also please tell me about
ANY other security programs EVER installed on the system (even trials that were removed before using) from the very beginning (or from the last clean boot or restore to factory conditions) - every name and every version (though if you're not sure about the
versions here, that's OK though it would help). If you're not certain, please
see the following compliments of Dave__M: If you aren't sure of what may still be on your system as remnants, which could be interfering with the MSE install, try a scan of your system with this security application detection and removal specialist:
Thanks. Though more information would help even further, that should be enough to pin down the issue and provide you with instructions that will get you past this problem.
