Hi ysuhor,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community forum. I'm sorry for the delayed response. I understand the frustration of having your facebook picture shown on your emails and you're unable to unlink facebook. Please verify if  these are the steps that you're doing to unlink facebook from your account.

1. Login your account at https://profile.live.com

2. Click Manage

3. Click Edit

4. Click Remove this connection completely

5. Click Remove

If yes, then provide the exact error message that is stopping you from deleting the link. Also, try using a different web browser to ensure this is not contributing to the problem.

If this is not the case, then provide the exact steps on how you try to delete the link but you're unable to.

We look forward to your reply.

Thank you!

Hi BearRoach,

I apologize for the delayed in response. Since your Facebook picture is shown in your emails, please verify if you are referring to your sent emails. If yes, we would need the following screenshots for investigation:

  • Associated third party accounts by going to this link: https://profile.live.com and click the Manage option.
  • Sample sent email with your Facebook picture
  • Profile picture

In addition to that, we would need your permission to access your account. Kindly provide us also the following:

  • Grant access to your account
  • Affected email address
  • Alternate email address
  • PUID

To give us your permission to access your Microsoft account, reply to the request from the support agent and include the following text in your message:

"I grant you my permission to access my Microsoft account."

***** DO NOT give us your current password.

Before you grant us to access your account, please refer to this link:

What should I do before I grant access to my account to the support moderators?

To get your accounts PUID, refer to this link.

I created a private message area where you could provide the needed information.

Note: To view the secure private section, you'll need to be signed in and click on the notification (which can be found at the top of the thread) that states "You have a private reply to this message. Click here to read it on our secure private message section" or by clicking the "Private Messages" tab.

If you are referring to your Facebook profile picture which is shown in the received email in the recipient's end, it might be possible that he/she linked his/her Facebook account. In this case, if you are friends with Facebook, emails that he/she will receive from you will reflect your Facebook profile picture. Your profile picture will only reflect on the Microsoft accounts that were linked with Facebook.

Looking forward for your response.

Thank you.

Thank you for getting back to me.

I have sort of fixed the problem, I had to change my face book name in my email profile. Before if someone received an email from me it had my facebook name, now it says "from michael" I have fooled around with the settings and it definately says I am not connected to face book. How they became linked in the first place is unknown to me. Not sure if I feel comfortable with giving you access to my account and I respectfully decline, its a bit too "big brotherish" for me, but thanks anyway. I very much appreciate you responding and I hope you have a good day!!

Cheers

BR

I have had the same issue Except I am worried for my fellow collegues... Their facebook photos are automatically added to their emails... This is worrying as they have never set this up and are not on the newest outlook. How can I ensure people with the newest outlook are not receiving emails from my fellow collegues with their facebook photo's attached? If you ask me, this autolink feature is stupid - nobody wants their personal lives mixed WITHOUT their PERMISSION with their professional lives.

Hi JacquiVasist,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. I understand that you are concerned about your friends sent emails with their profile pictures being shown.

We recommend that you ask then to try the steps provided above by JMH3143 and Raymond to try to remove the shown pictures on their sent emails.

Let us know if the issue persists.

Thank you.

Johan
