Answer

So, as I said, they're two separate accounts.  Therefore, logging into the Hotmail account doesn't "send you to the Outlook.com account".  Hotmail IS Outlook.com now.  So, logging in with the Hotmail.com address logs you into that account's mailbox, but with the Outlook.com user interface for that mailbox.  Logging in with the Outlook.com address logs you into that account's mailbox, also with the Outlook.com user interface.  You're still seeing completely separate mailboxes.  You're not being "sent" anywhere.

In Internet Explorer, Ctrl + Shift + P will open an InPrivate Browsing session.

Go to http://www.outlook.com and login to the Hotmail account.

You cannot use a shortcut or Favorite to login to the Hotmail account if you already have a shortcut to the outlook.com account.

Another option is to use a different browser to access the Hotmail account.
