Email from custom domain going into junk folder

I have set up a custom email via outlook and set up the SPF  & TXT records.

However when sending an email to a hotmail account it goes into the junk folder.

How can I change it so my emails get to my clients and not into there junk as, calling all clients to get them to add us to there white list is not a practical option.

Many thanks

Hi TommyFullerton,

Thank you for posting here in Microsoft Community. I do apologize for the delayed response.

I understand that emails you sent to Outlook.com account are received in their junk folder. Let me assist you on this.

First, could you please clarify what do you mean when you say you have set uo your custom email via Outlook? Do you mean your domain was registered in domains.live.com? If yes, could you please provide us your domain so we can check?

When it comes to junk emails, recipient will still have the control whether they want to junk an email from a certain sender or not. If an account was set to Exclusive, this means that all emails they received from a non-contact or not in their safe senders list will be marked as junk. Although you mentioned it is not a practical option, it would still be best to advise your your recipients to add your email address as contacts or in their safe senders list so the next time you send them an email, it will go straight to their inbox.

I hope this helps. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you.

I am having this issue as well.

I have a custom domain set up. When my site sends emails, they are going to the spam folders. Now I tell outlook.com (using custom domain) that the email is safe, and not junk, I continue to get them in the spam folder.

What else can I do to prevent them from going to a junk folder?

Hi Ski-whiz,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. We understand your concern about emails from your domain being redirected to Junk folder and we will assist you. Just to verify when your domain is sending emails it is being received in your Junk folder. Am I correct?

If so, we suggest to create an email rule so that emails from your domain will go to your Inbox. You may click the link below for steps on how to create an email rule:

How do I create rules for incoming emails to go directly to a dedicated folder in Outlook.com?

Kindly let us know the results. Your cooperation and understanding is highly appreciated.

Thanks!
