Cannot get hotmail on iPhone

We would like to apologize first for not answering your concern in a timely manner. You stated in your post that you cannot get into your Microsoft account on your iPhone.

In order for us to provide you a better answer, we would like to ask what settings you are using when you set up your Microsoft account on your iPhone. Is it EAS (Exchange ActiveSync), IMAP or POP?

We advise you to check your settings. Please refer to the help article "Set up an email app with Outlook.com" for the correct settings. If the issue persists, kindly provide the following information:

• How do you set up your account? Can you give the exact steps?

• What is the exact error message you received? Is there any error code provided?

• What is your affected email address? Kindly provide it to the private message we created for you.

I too am facing the same issue - has ANYONE resolved?! I can access my account with no issues on a PC or even on my Iphone 4s on the web browser! Help?!?!! Thanks

Only to send me some standard instructions on how to set up a hotmail account (which is how I had done it). I hope they are still looking into it but I haven't heard anything for a while. 

I've tried adding and deleting the account, adding it as "other" instead of "outlook", changing passwords. Nothing works.

it was working for a while on my iPhone 5 but then stopped working. This was around the time that I signed into my iTunes account on that phone. So I don't know if it's an issue with some other app I have. But could also just be coincidence I guess. Anyway, setting up a whole new iTunes account isn't an option so it doesn't really help even if that is the reason. 

Let me know of you get anywhere and I'll share how of I get mine resolved.

i have exactly the same issue. I get my Hotmail emails on PC but not on iphone 5. this started today after I had some password problems with my Hotmail account yesterday and had to reset my password. not sure if this is related but very frustrating as Hotmail has been working fine for me for many years.!!

I also did an IOS 7 update on my phone yesterday so may be the reason for this problem.

Please can you help, I cannot get mail to set up on Iphone 5 IOS 7.

I use 'other' account for Hotmail.co.uk - I select pop3 and enter user name and password as per usual log in on internet however it says username and password are incorrect and I know they are not.

the actual error is

cannot get mail

the user name or password for "pop3.live.com" is incorrect

should I be using a different host for pop3 for Hotmail.co.uk?

I'm also having trouble getting my hotmail on my iPad and iPhone 6. The trouble started when I upgraded to iOS 7. I get "cannot verify account information". I've tried it via outlook and exchange. Both don't recognize the password I've had for years. I took it to verizon and they couldn't figure it out either. Please help! Thanks!
