Can we add attachment in mailto?

Can we add attachment in mailto: Like
<a href="mailto:xyz.com?subject=test&body=test mail$attachment=file_path" />

Hi KrutarthShah,

Let me help you with your concern about attaching files in Outlook.com.

Can you provide us what do you mean about "mailto"? And with regard to that link you have provided, it that a path where the file was stored?

It is impossible for us to attach emails using that link you have provided above. If you want, you can upload that file in SkyDrive so that it will automatically send as a link to the recepient address.

I look forward hearing from you.

Thank you.

Hi Jessa,

I am trying to use href to open outlook mail compose, When clicked on a button or an image.
Yes, that's the path were file is stored

I tried below link but it does not work,
<a href="mailto:xyz.com?subject=test&body=test mail&attachment=file_path"> Send mail </a>
Am I doing something wrong OR missing something?

Above link only opens mail compose box, with pre-filled Subject, Body and To but not attaching the file.

I look forward hearing from you

Thank You.

Hi KrutarthShah,

We need to gather additional information about your issue to understand it better. Please provide the answers to the following questions on your next reply:

- Where are you trying to attach the file? Is it through the web based Outlook or using a mail client?

- What are the exact steps that you had performed that led you to this issue?

- Do you encounter any error message? If so, what is the exact one?

- Does the issue affect only a single file?

Meanwhile, there are some instances that your browser's cache and temporary internet files contribute to the issue. To make sure that this is not a browser issue, please optimize your browser by following the instruction on the link provided below:

How to Clear Your Browser's Cache

After optimizing, please close your entire browser and try attaching the file again.

We will wait for your reply.

Thank you.
