Can not setup outlook.com SMTP

i have configured my newly created domain email on outlook.com. Email works fine but i am not able to set it via SMTP.

I get error:
The SMTP connection failed to start [ssl://smtp.live.com:587]: fsockopen returned Error Number 0 and Error String ''
have tried both ssl and tls.
I would like to use this email in my prestashop ecommerce store, to send order confirmation emails.

port 25 looks blocked so used 587
on port 465 getting timeout.

Am i missing something?

Kristina, thanks for fast reply. I set my settings as per
Apps that support POP3 or SMTP

from your link, i have tryed SSL and TLS encryption , have tried port 25 but no joy.


If I use settings from my Gmail account it works.

looks like my swift mailer in prestashop is missing starttls which is required by outlook.com.
