Port contacts and email to GMAIL

Hi,

My Hotmail account has been hacked and I'm trying to send my contacts and messages to Gmail. On Gmail's side, it says

Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password.
Please contact Microsoft's support team for more information on POP access.
Server returned error: "This account has POP disabled. Go to the Outlook.com options page to enable POP."

How do I enable POP in Outlook??

Thanks.

I do. I've spend a pretty infuriating 4+ hours chatting with Microsoft people trying to figure out if i should shut it down or what...

Just found out that Google changed something and you can't port over addresses any more...

Not sure what my options are. Should I just shut down the account?

I am unsure what you are trying to do.  If you only want to export your data to gmail there is a kind of kludgey work around.

You can install windows live mail (an email client) and sync it to outlook.  That makes a local copy on your computer (a good idea for back up anyway).  Then change its setting to use gmail and sync.

It should work but I have never done it that way

If you want to back up your data you must configure your account on a Mail Client. Follow the steps below to do this:

Download Windows Essentials, it comes with Windows Live Mail, Family Safety, Writer, Outlook Connector pack, Microsoft OnedriveWhen you download Essentials, you can choose custom install to install only Windows Live Mail depending on your preference.

Windows Essentials

Once Windows Live Mail is installed and configured, just sign in to your account and wait for the program to download your emails.  When finished downloading you should have an exact copy on your Hard Drive.
For more info about configuring your account

After doing this you have a copy of your emails on your hard drive that is synced with the outlook.com server.

If you want to save an additional copy in case something happens to your windows live mail you can export both your emails and your account by doing ALT + "F" and exporting both to a different location on your choice.
