Drafts folder does not sync to mobile using Outlook.com

Hello,

I use Outlook.com and have noticed that the drafts folder does not sync between my mobile devices (both Android AND iOS) and Outlook.com

However, syncing works fine between the Outlook 2016 client and Outlook.com...

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance!

Sebastian

Hi,

I am not sure that the steps described in the link you sent will help. First of all, the problem is only with the drafts folder. I've read some older posts which indicate that because Outlook.com does not use the Exchange Activesync Protocol, syncing of the drafts folder is not supported on mobile. Is this true? If so, then it really won't matter if I remove and re-add the device.

Apparently, EAS 16 has support for draft folder syncing on mobile. But as I mentioned, Outlook.com doesn't use this protocol - which is something I find quite strange. What does it use then?

Thanks for your help so far.

Regards,

Sebastian

The mobile app uses an older version of EAS that does not support syncing of the Drafts folder.

You are correct that removing and re-adding the account on the mobile will not help.

Outlook 2013 and 2016 were using EAS.  The recent instructions to reconnect your account in Outlook 2013 and 2016 stopped the use of EAS.

Any news about draft folder and support it in Outlook Mobile on Android?

It's really strange when that very basic functionality is not supported by modern software.

Couldn't agree more. And I have the same problem - Outloook 2016, Outlook.com, Outlook iOS10 doesn't sync Draft folder.

And here we go again, after some initial replies which did not resolve anything the whole thing stops and MS customers are left alone with unresolved problems in terms of major functionality flaws. Like 2 other threats of mine/many other customers with problems which never got resolved. pw
