Why are my gmail emails arriving into my hotmail.com email account?

My s@hotmail  is receiving my k@gmail emails.

I'm on outlook.com for my s@hotmail email and noticed a bunch of my professional emails from k@gmail are in the hotmail inbox. WHY?  I can't wrap my brain around it. I can't figure out how to stop it. IDK if I set up something wrong or wha?

I mainly use Win10 Mail. When I checked it out, it has the same issue when I bring up the Mail app, my gmail emails are in the inbox for my Hotmail too. I just don't get it  I do not want the gmail emails to arrive in my Hotmail.

please help me figure this out. TYSVM

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

Could you login to https://mail.live.com/ through the web browser and check if you can see all the Gmail emails from the webmail as well.

If you cannot see your Gmail emails in your Hotmail account using the web browser then you might have linked both your accounts in the Mail app. You can follow the steps below and unlink the email accounts.

1. Open Mail App and click on the Gear (Settings) icon.

2. Now, click on Manage Accounts and select Linked Accounts (You might have kept a different name, therefore click on the option).

3. Now, select Unlink Inboxes and click on Save.

Let us know, if you can see your Gmail emails in your Hotmail account while accessing through the web browser.

Regards,

Jesinta Rozario

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

I suspect that either you have connected your Gmail account to your Hotmail account or set up automatic forwarding option in Gmail Account.

Let's try the following steps and try to find the cause of the issue.

Login to https://mail.live.com/ through the web browser.

If you see Outlook Mail on the upper left corner, then follow the steps below.

1. Click on Gear (Settings) icon and select Options.

2. On the left pane, expand Mail > Accounts. Click on Connected Accounts.

3. Check if you have added your Gmail account to the connected account. If yes, then remove the account.

If you see Outlook.com on the upper left corner, then follow the steps below.

1. Click on Gear (Settings) icon and select Options.

2. Now click on Your email accounts.

3. If you have added your email account, kindly remove it.

Do let us know the status of your issue.

Regards,

Jesinta Rozario

Hi,

We apologize for the delayed response.

Could you login to your Gmail account and review your settings. Check if you might have set up your Hotmail account to automatically forward the emails to your Hotmail account. Look for forwarding section.

Also, I would suggest you contact Gmail support and see if they might help you with this issue.

Regards,
