Uanble to delete Linkedin Birthdays

Hi,

I linked LinkedIn to my hot mail account. Now my calendar has all the Birthdays of my contacts. I have now removed the linked with LinkedIn but can't delete the Birthdays in the calendar.

I get the following message:

"Calendar error

Sorry, there’s a problem deleting this birthday at the moment. Please try again later."

Trying again later does not work.

Regards

Hi Caddickd,

I understand that you're unable to delete the birthdays in your Birthday Calendar. I also understand that this must be inconvenient on your end. Don't worry, let us help you with this.

We would need you to verify some information first so we can properly address the issue. Please confirm the following:

  • Does the issue persist using a different browser?
  • Have you tried readding and removing your Linked In account again?

I recommend that you optimize your browser, clear browser's cache and temporary internet files to make sure that your browser’s setting don’t contribute to your issue. If you’re using Internet Explorer browser, please check this article for instructions:

How to Optimize Internet Explorer

After optimizing, please close your entire browser and try again.

Please let us know if the issue still persists.

Thanks.

Hi.

I am also having this exact same problem. I have tried re-adding LinkedIn to my account and still the problem persists. On different browsers (IE10 and Chrome) as well as on Outlook 2013. I do not get an option to delete these birthdays on WP8 as it says they are read-only.

Please help as this is frustrating when receiving notifications for people you are only acquainted with.

Thanks,

Rory

Perhaps Microsoft can change the system behaviour? This keeps happening because my LinkedIn account is connected to my windows phone. I am sure birthdays is the last thing people are interested on a professional network.

Absurd response. Typical "moderator" unhelpful blather. Why oh why - after 10 years of this - can they not provide a useful forum (such as Stack Overflow). Bizarre.

Some guidance on how to complete each of these steps would be helpful.  I managed to remove the linkage to LinkedIn, but now must go search for how to complete the other two steps.

Hi,

I have similar problems and need to refresh this thread.

For quite a long time I have a several duplicates of birthdays entries in my calendar and what's worse in most cases I even can't remove the duplicates.

Because this case is annoying me constantly, I wanted to completely remove the link between LinkedIn and my outlook account using the MS Account control panel in web browser. But when I do this, I get such message: There seems to be some trouble removing this service from your account right now. Please try again later."

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Robert

Awesome, now how do you actually perform those steps?

I don't want 300 Linkedin birthdays on my calendar, and its actually more like 400 at the moment as so many are duplicated. Please give us actual instructions on how to do this...?
