Just to give a little background, I had a Xbox Live Family Membership so both of my sons could have their own gamertags. When you created a child gamertag under the family membership, it would automatically generate an Live ID email address (ex: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***) that matched the generated gamertag. Fine, whatever, no harm, no foul until... Microsoft decided to do away with the Xbox Live Family Memberships.
Now all of those child gamertags were converted into their own full Microsoft accounts and the ID primary alias is locked in as the original email address created on the account. When you go into the manage alias section, it says "Your organization's policies prevent you from changing your primary alias."
In searching for assistance, I found a thread from 2014 (linked below) but when I go to domains.live.com it appears that site is now defunct. How do I go about getting rid of this ridiculous email alias and getting my Outlook.com alias set as primary? Every one of my MS devices (W8 laptop, W8 tablet and Lumia phone) all show the primary alias. I've spent three months calling, emailing, tweeting Xbox and MS support and cannot get assistance. This shouldn't be this hard to fix considering this wasn't a custom domain that I controlled. Please help!
