How to handle issues with MX Record or Pending DNS Configuration error?
Answer
Answer

If you are getting the “Pending DNS” error when you access your Windows Live Admin Center account, it is possible that the MX Record of your domain is not properly configured.

Please follow the instructions below to fix this.

I.  Get the MX record from your Windows Live Admin Center

    a. Go to http://domains.live.com and sign in with your administrator account.

    b. Click on the domain you would like to manage.

    c. Click on the “Domain Settings” link at the left side of the page.

    d. Under MX Record, copy the MX Server values.

II. Change the MX Record configured in your domain

Once you have copied the MX Record, you then need to edit the MX Record configured in your domain.

    a. Go to the registrar where you have purchased your domain.

    b. You may contact the technical support of the registrar where you have purchased your domain for assistance in changing the MX Record.

If you’ve already configured your domain settings but suddenly encountered an error, please refresh your Windows Live Admin Center account by following the instructions below:

    a. Go to http://domains.live.com and sign in to your account.

    b. Click on the domain you would like to manage.

    c. Click on the “Domain Settings” link at the left side of the page.

    d. Click on the “Refresh” button.

If you’re still getting the same issue, we suggest changing the administrator account that you use to manage your domain. You can find more information about changing your administrator account by clicking here.
