Q: hotmail.com sign in

I am having a problem that only recently occurred. I am unable to sign in with any degree of regularity. Sometimes it takes me 10 to 15 attempts at signing in before I make a connection. My name and password are correct. Occasionally a message appears that states that a connection can't be made at his time. Since this problem only seems to occur with Hotmail I'm assuming there is some problem with Hotmail. Is the conversion to Outlook responsible for my inability to sign in. When I am successful and I read an email I'm unable to reply because I lose the connection. What's going on Hotmail?

 I don't use a mobile phone. I haven't made any significant hardware or software changes other than the usual updates from Mac. These have never presented a problem before. I have tried on two browsers with the same results.I have the most recent versions of Safari and Chrome. I recently read were there is a change being made from Hotmail to Outlook. Could that have any effect on my inability to sign in?  FYI tonight it took 14 tries before I was able to sign in.

Afternoon,

 I am using the Outlook.com/Hotmail.com version. Both of my browsers are updated and meet the required versions. Again today I was unable to sign in this morning and it took me over a dozen attempts to sign in. I have tried googling Hotmail and signing in that way. I've tried signing in through my outlook account page and get the same results. Nothing. Finally I made the sign in. I know once I send this email I won't likely be able to stay connected and will have to go thru the process again. It's frustrating. I don't get an error message until I have attempted 6 or 8 sign ins. The message is "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try later" in red font.

It has been more than 1 1/2 days of trying to sign in and cannot. I enter my email name and password then nothing a white blank screen with the blue bar 1/4 of the way across the address. After many attempts I occasionally get the message sorry can't connect now try later. I guess I will have to open a gmail account since I can't use my hotmail account

still having this problem. Sure it doesn't have something to do with the transition from Hotmail to Outlook?

Hi just wanted you to know that after weeks the problem seems fixed. I opened a gmail account.

I am having the same problem with my iMac, cannot sign in to Hotmail??? The blue progress line stops and it does not sign in. Like the other person, sometimes it works?  I can sign in no problem with my laptop which uses windows but not with the iMac?  Please Microsoft address this issue once and for all, it is not normal that so many people are having the same issue with their Mac's. We need a fix!
