Outlook.com Verification

I can't send e-mails because my account requires verification.  I can't get a verification code, because my phone number is a landline and it keeps trying to text me the code instead of calling it in.  I can add a new number to receive calls, but cannot remove my old one and re-add it without first verifying another one.  I am stuck in a loop of being unable to get a verification.  How should I be fixing this, Microsoft?

I have tried repeatedly, it won't send a message to my landline nor allow me to remove and re-add my number to be phoned instead of texted for verification.  Apparently, it seems to save whether your number is to be phoned or texted as a function of the number for some reason.  I can't find any option when attempting to verify that lets me specify what form it should contact me in.

I have already gone there and tried.  I can't change the number without removing it and re-adding it, but it won't allow to do that without first verifying another number or e-mail address.  That's my problem.

I can sign-in to my account fine.  The issue is every time I attempt sending an e-mail it ends up telling me to verify my account first, and because it defaults to texting me the verification code I am unable to do so verify it, dude.  I know you are trying to help, but you don't seem to grasp my problem.  I have one phone number and because my old computer died on me recently, no alternative e-mail address.  I am therefore unable to add another one to verify my account with and it isn't giving me an option to have my phone number contacted by call unless I am able to re-add it.  However, I am unable to remove it in order to re-add it unless I somehow verify a different number or e-mail address first.
