zoom opens new version of outlook will not send

When using Zoom invite it opens a page inviting me to Microsoft 365 which I cancel.  It then brings up anew version of outlook.  When I try to send thw invite it won;t, no error message.  How can I fix this or preferably use my old outlook?

thanks

Hello jgjacobs

There are a few missing details from your description, most specifically in terms of the "old version" of Outlook?

I just went through the invite process using the latest version of the Zoom client (5.0,3) and the invite process starts with the attached screenshot.

When I select the <Default Email> - it uses my Outlook 365 desktop client (which is my default) so really important to know what version of Office (Outlook) you're actually using.

It also begs the question as to whether or not you have a trial version of Office 365 installed on your computer which possibly be the cause of what you're running into. If you do, then this should be uninstalled and the Office version you're actually using should be repaired.

Lastly, this really is a question that needs to be posed to Zoom support since it's their application that is invoking whatever it is you're encountering. This is the application that is in control of what is happening.

Hi Karl:

I cannot find out what version I am using, when I follow this instruction I don not find Aacount and I see no here  in help wjere O can get  version number..  I am not using Microsoft 365.  My default mail program is Outlook.  I am using Windows 10 Version 2004.  When I list my programs in the Start menu it shows Microsoft Office 2016.

When I hit default email in Zoom  and get a page that wants me to install trial or buy 365 which I don't  want ao I hit the X and it goes tothis Outlook.  I then enter an email address in the TO and hit send.  It will not send, just Beeps and gives no message

this

Hope this helps to diagnose my problem.

Have already described what you need to check regarding the trial version of Office 365. It's not a question as to whether or not you are using '365, it's a question as to whether it is installed on your computer (a trial version of '365 is installed on every new computer). If you can't locate/uninstall it, then you'll need to ask Zoom support for additional instructions. It is the Zoom client that is launching all of this so you'll need to ask them why the Office 365 screen is coming up if you can't find it in the list of programs as per

Go to Control Panel --> Programs --> check to see if Office '365 appears in the list.

As for the rest of it, please note that this forum isn't for resolving Zoom issues which is the source of your problems - it's not Outlook. If Outlook can't send a calendar invite created by Zoom, then you'll need to ask them to trouble-shoot the cause.

#1 - Regarding your version of Zoom - follow the arrows in the first part of the screenshot to find the Zoom client version

#2 - I went through the complete process of sending out an invite for a test meeting and everything just as expected. Calendar invite was created, added a recipient and emailed it. Was received without issues.

In any case, am not going to pretend to be an expert in all things Zoom but I can't replicate <any> of your issues - you really should be asking the questions to Zoom Support since, to stress, it is the Zoom client that is invoking Outlook.
