"Your email address needs to be updated."

I received a mail claiming to be from Microsoft that said:

"Your Hotmail email service has been upgraded. However, because you have not yet updated your settings, you won’t be able to receive emails at this email address - [Insert email address]
Not to worry, you can quickly update the settings on your devices by following our step-by-step guide.

Once you’ve updated your settings, you’ll be able to continue enjoying your Hotmail email service.

Download form now and complete your details."

The sender has very sketchy name of random letter and @cgocable.ca

Should I just ignore it?

Hello IisaavaraqKleist

This is nothing more then a common phishing scam email only trying to get the login credentials for the account which should be ignored/deleted. Microsoft would never send out an email message like that.

If you did log into your account using the link in the message, change your account password immediately.
