Hi Ron,

I am logging into the computer using my password. No problem here.

I am able to log into a Microsoft account with no problem.

My Microsoft account does not have an @outlook.com address, it is a Virgin Media account @blueyonder.co.uk.

I can access all my emails and send and receive them in my Virgin Media and Windows Live Mail. But in Windows 10 I can only send emails. I have also tried to generate a POP/SMTP account in Windows 10 Mail. This too does not work.

Thank you for your support in this problem. I notice that searching the WEB for an answer to this problem, it seems to have been around for a long time.

Best regards,

John Rance.

  • HI Ron.

My Windows Live mail Account, Servers are setup as:

    Incoming mail: pop3.blueyonder.co.uk.

    Outgoing mail: smtp.blueyonder.co.uk.

    Server Port Numbers:

    Outgoing mail (smtp): 25.

    Incoming mail (POP3): 110.

Neither servers require a secure connection (SSL), and there is no mention of TLS in my Windows Live Mail properties.

My Username is my email address.

I hope I have answered your questions.

    Best regards.

    John .

Did you use the password for the blueyonder account or the password for the Microsoft account?

    Were you using Other account?

Try setting up the account using the IMAP settings.

    Hi, Ron.

I set up an IMAP account, but had the same results. could send emails but not receive them. I have also reinstalled Windows 10, with no improvement. On going back into Mail, I set up an account for *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, and received a message from Outlook.com team. Following there procedure I ended up with Outlook.com installed. Still could not receive emails only send them. I have no other email account running on my problem computer. Have deleted Outlook.com, so back to Mail. On our other computer which is running a free  Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 7 and running Windows Live Mail we have no problems. In fact I have to use this to correspond with your good self.

    Best regards.

    John.

A reinstall of Windows 10 may not get you the latest apps such as the Mail app.

I find out how to update the apps.

    Hi Ron,

All is okay in running Mail. Can send & receive emails. Went into Settings and found an option to RESET Mail. Thank you for your support.

    Happy New Year.
