Why did my email address change

Dear All

I have 2 Hotmail addresses

*** Email address is removed for privacy *** and *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

I now find that I have a new address *** Email address is removed for privacy *** which receives my *** Email address is removed for privacy *** . It does not receive the Hotmail.com mails only the Hotmail.co.uk mails.

What's happened? I never until about 6/9 months ago had this problem.  It's in XP, vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 as well as Linux and android.

What's the solution?

Regards

The link does not explain the reason for the change from *** Email address is removed for privacy *** to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. The changed email address still receives the *** Email address is removed for privacy *** even though the address has been changed! What the **** is going on as at no time have I ever created a Lxxxxxxx1@ Hotmail.co.uk

Regards

Mike

Hi,

The reason is, MSN starts to regionalize whereby individual countries have their own version of MSN and Hotmail in relation to the domain extension of that country. Thus, they will be getting transferred over the .co.uk domain.

Let us know if it answered your query.

Thanks.

Greetings all

It's nothing to do with regionalization. It was not a .com that changed but a .co.uk. My Hotmail.com address is ok it's my .co.uk that's the problem i.e.

Vxxxxxx@hotmail.co.uk to *** Email address is removed for privacy *** The .co.uk is the same but note the first part of the address has changed. Inspite of the change I still get my emails!

Thanks for your help Julie. My question was why did Hotmail deem that I wanted to have my email address change. At the moment I get all my emails. I  have  more than once thought that I had deleted the unwanted email address but the unwanted address always comes back. I repeat my question why?

Greetings All

I have a *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and another *** Email address is removed for privacy *** a few weeks ago I noticed that I no longer had *** Email address is removed for privacy *** but *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. E-mail addressed to *** Email address is removed for privacy *** is still received. Why would the system change the address? It's almost as if windows didn't like vxxxxxg so it changed it to lxxxxxx01 but kept the .co.uk.

Help!

Mike

Part of the problem here is that you can (I believe) see the email address you're posting. We see *** Email address is removed for privacy *** so we don't know what changes you're writing about.

You should not post a legitimate, in use email address but if you could post examples like

address1(at)Hotmail.com and address2(at)hotmail.co.uk, those who are trying to help might be able to understand the issue and provide better help.

Again- don't post your actual address and replace @ with (at) so the address isn't filtered out.
