Unable to modify folders in new look hotmail/outlook

hi there

would appreciate some help please as my hotmail account is driving me around the bend.

since its look/ feel has changed to having tiles I can't do any editing of my folders. There is no menu or options or tabs anywhere for me to add/delete or rename folders. I've looked online and can't find any help areas that show the screen I have - note I am using iPhone 6 and iPad not computers so 'right clicking' to do something is not possible.

the 'new' + tab only allows me to create new emails. Options lets me handle things like attachments but nothing for folders. As you can see below I need to delet a folder but can't...

attached a photo of what my inbox and folder list looks like. Ready to throw the whole account away but I've had it for over 15 years. :((

thanks in adavnce, Le Image

Oo

Hi Le_nz1 ,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

Assuming that you're using the Outlook.com App, please be aware that unfortunately the app doesn’t support the facility of creating a new folder yet. You can add a new folder in your email client (like Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook etc.) and these folders will be automatically synced and will be displayed in your Outlook.com app.

As you're using Outlook.com then refer to the section Work with Folders from the link given below and check if it helps:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/outlook/basics

Hope this information is helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response and advice. Unfortunately, I am in between jobs and currently only have access to my iPad and iPhone at home (no pc) so I am not able to right click to work with folders!

Will have to to borrow a pc or go to an Internet cafe.

would be great if Microsoft could improve the user interface for mobile devices.

thanks again, Le

Hi,

Thank you for keeping us updated.

I recommend you to leave a feedback within the Outlook.com App so our Outlook Engineers will look into it.

Thanks.

Hi,

The original posted question is now six months old and your response is still as unhelpful as the day you posted it.

The link you posted in your response is for the old Outlook, this new Outlook looks nothing like what is described in the instructions contained in that link, as can be clearly seen in the photo that was posted by Le_nz1.

I am fairly computer stupid and am amazed that there are still no relevant instructions on how to even access delete in this new and "improved" looking Outlook. I will not use the Outlook app, as it appears none worth while at this point in time if I can not even properly access or configure my email account.

I would be really grateful if you or someone could direct me to a more relevant and updated link or site.

Thank you
