Unable to Add RSS Feed in Outlook 2016

Hi Steve,

A quick question before we proceed.

Did you check the option 'Synchronize RSS Feeds to the Common Feed List (CFL) in Windows'as mentioned in the following article?

You may also export the RSS feed as an OPML file from Internet Explorer and then import it into Outlook and check if it works as expected.

To export RSS feeds from Internet Explorer, click on File > Import and Export >Export to a file > Next > select Feeds checkbox > Next >Export > Finish.

To import RSS feeds in Outlook, press Ctrl + 6 > right click on RSS Feeds > Import and OPML File > Browse and select the OPML File > Next > select the checkbox of RSS Feed > Next > Finish.

Thank you Prabhavathi. Your first suggestion did not work for me. I enabled the checkbox Synchronize RSS Feeds to the Common Feed List then tried adding the feed again in Outlook and it gave me the same error:

I browsed to the feed URL (https://wordpress.org/news/feed/) in Internet Explorer 11 and was able to subscribe to it. But then Outlook popped up with an error:

Any ideas? I don't normally use Internet Explorer so I really want my RSS feeds in Outlook. Thank you very much!

Let’s change the registry value in the following location and check how it works.

Press the Win + R keyboard combination to bring up a run box, then type regedit and hit enter to open the Registry Editor.

Then navigate into this key HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\RSS
DWORD: Disable Value: 1.

Change the value to 0 and verify the results

Hello, I have the same problem, already from a few moths, I had rss feeds working correctly, and all of a sudden they didnt update anymore. I deleted them, but when I try to add them, (right clik on rss Feeds in outlook add) I have a windows with "contacting the server and the a message :

"Outlook cannot process the RSS content from http://www.01net.com/rss/actualities/. the link may not point to a valid RSS source"

I tried all the solutions (here and in other forums as well) registry is ok, and IE options are ok as well, but I still cannot add ANY RSS fedd in outlook 2016. And I think that MS should have a patch for that, it's not to up to me to go and modify the registry, as i can see that it's a big proble.

I installed my account on another machine with outlook 2016 and W10 last build, (mine has 8.1) and on this machine i can add a FEED without problem. And it shows in outlook on my W8.1 :-p

What advice could you give to me ?

Hi Simon,

I never was able to solve this problem. I ended up switching to a stand-alone RSS reader instead. Sorry about that!
