Which mail account type are you using? POP3, IMAP, Exchange, Outlook.com/Hotmail, other?
Have you verified that you have specified a valid email address?
What is the full error message?

If you are using a security suite which integrates itself with Outlook, uninstall this integration and try again. See: http://www.msoutlook.info/question/20

I am using a POP3 e-mail account.  The messag is the standard System Administrator Undeliverable Message:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject:    RE: Message from  TaylorMade adidas Golf Co

      Sent: 1/22/2013 11:33 AM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

However, the e-mail actually goes out correctly and is reflected in the sent folder.

Also,

I just installed Kasperski anti-virus.  If it is the security suite, how would I uninstall the integration and maintain security on Outlook?

To open Outlook in safe mode:

Start > Start Search > outlook.exe /safe

(note the space between outlook.exe and /safe)

then press enter.

Outlook does not require antivirus integration. It causes more problems and your real time scanner will catch everything it's been updated for anyway.

I have Kasperski (for over 2 years) but just started getting this error in the last week. Nothing has changed.  50% of the time I get it, 50% I don't but people say they are getting the emails. (I'm sending another one out to be sure and so far, all have said they are getting both even though the 1st one comes back as undeliverable.

Everything changes daily. Your antivirus is updated at least daily with definition updates and regular upgrades are done, even if you don't notice them.

The full extent of the NDR (non-delivery report) would help. There should be error numbers, etc.

What happened when you opened Outlook in safe mode? Did the behaviour change or not?

Kathleen, I have been having similar problems with my Outlook 2010.  I opened Outlook in safe mode and it still gave me the same "System Administrator" delivery failure.

Thanks for your feedback.

The error tells you in the first line: Message rejected for spam or virus content.

Is your email hosted by GoDaddy?

The problem is with GoDaddy (and I think APlus):

Every email account has a limit (250 relays for the last 24 hours)

The problem feels random because you are not going to remember how you reach that number, most of us get to answer our emails when we can and as many as possible. So you do it now, you get the problem a few minutes later, it works because in the last 24hrs now, you have less than 250 emails sent out.

Solution, use another of your unused email accounts (it can have the same and look of your default one).

Test using a different email account (like Hotmail/Outlook.com/gmail) pulled into Outlook and see if they send/receive OK.
