Setting Up Email from 123-reg account

Hi,

We have recently purchased the Office 365 package (premium). We are looking to move our email over to the 365 exchange server but I have a couple of queries;

  1. We have a number of email addresses which aren't specific to any particular user (info@, jobs@ etc) Do we have to purchase a 365 licence for every email address?
  2. If not how do we access them as I thought once the nameservers were changed we would be unable to access them unless we have 365 associated with each address??

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

CD

Answer

hi craig difiori,

besides normal user mailboxes, there are several other types of mailboxes like shared mailboxes, room mailboxes, equipment mailboxes etc. unlike normal user mailboxes, credentials are not provided for these mailboxes, and therefore no licenses are required.

it’s not feasible to access them online or set them in outlook client alone. we need to grant the full access permission of these mailboxes for normal user mailboxes to access these mailboxes.

to grant the full access permission, login to exchange admin center with admin credentials and then navigate to recipients > recourses or shared > choose the mailbox > edit > mailbox delegation > full access, add normal user mailbox.

after that, users who have full access of another mailbox can open it in owa. or when their accounts are set up in outlook client via exchange mode, these mailboxes shows up in outlook client automatically.

if anything is unclear, feel free to post back. we are here to provide further assistance.

thanks,

brook
