Searching CONTACTS by a phone number

In all previous versions of OUTLOOK, I could search CONTACTS by entering a phone number in the SEARCH box. This no longer works in the latest version of OFFICE 365.

Is there any way to find  contacts by their phone numbers?

You are using Outlook desktop software? It's still working here, i can try the number in 2025551212 number format and it finds the formatted numbers

Which version and build of Outlook are you using? See File, Office Account for the information.  

It's not working in Outlook on the web.

There was an automatic update recently.

That's the version i have on one of my test systems - searching by phone works.

Are any other search functions not working? It's a little buggy for some people.

I found the solution to my question.

One CANNOT find a contact by entering a phone number into the "Search People" box at the right upper corner.

However, one CAN find a contact by entering a phone number into the "Search"  box at the top of the screen.

That "Search"  box can also be used to find details by entering the name of a contact or any other type of data.

Thus, the "Search People" box is REDUNDANT and CONFUSING and should be eliminated.
