Report Message add-in does not show up in Outlook 2016

Hello,

The report message add-in does not show up in my Outlook 2016, although the add-in has been installed properly in my PC.

I know this because from Junk menu, I can see there are Report as Junk and Report as Phishing options which were not there before I enabled the report message add-in.

Please help to resolve this issue.

Hi Henny,
You are using the com addin version? There is an office app version for Outlook.com and Office 365 mailboxes, which is recommended over the com addin. Use the Get addins button to open the Office store and find it.

Where are you looking for the addin? In File > Options > Addins or Manage Addins?

I'm not sure if I get you correctly, I installed the Report Message add-in from Microsoft App Source.

I followed the instruction from here:

That's the "correct" version, but it doesn't add anything to the junk menu - it adds a separate button to the ribbon when it is enabled.

It only works in the Outlook.com or Office 365 mailbox it is installed in - it won't work with gmail or other pop and imap accounts. If you have more than one outlook.com or exchange mailbox, you need to install it in each account.

Hi Diane,

Yes, I am saying there is no button added in my Outlook 2016.

But I know the report message add-in has been installed successfully because I have report as junk and report as phishing options under the Junk menu.

That looks like the menu for the com addin, not the office app. Is it listed in File > Options > Addins?

The office app at https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-US/product/o... shows the same ribbon icon as in my screenshot.

This is the menu from the com addin - and the file > options > addins entry.
That is the addin at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/detail... not the office addin version from appsource.

Yes, it is showing in my Add-Ins but nothing shows on ribbon.

That addin does not add a button to the ribbon - it only adds to the junk email menu.

The one in this screenshot is the office addin version from
https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-US/product/o...

It only works in outlook.com and office 365 accounts - you get it by clicking on Get Add-ins. Then search for report message.

Yes, I have done that portion as well.

As stated in my earlier message I've followed all instruction from here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/office-365-security/enable-the-report-message-add-in?view=o365-worldwide to get the report message add-in.

But no Report Message button or ribbon appears on my Outlook 2016.

You should disable the com addin or uninstall it - you don't need both.

If you just installed it within the last few hours or so, give it some time - the addins don't always show up immediately. I added it to my text mailbox tonight and it was in the mailbox in Outlook on the web immediately but only just synced down to Outlook desktop - after I clicked the send receive button.

Do you have more than one email account in your profile?

Go to File > Manage Addins to open the office addins page - is the report message addin checked?
