Have you tried to access your account using another browser or computer? Does the same issue happen?
First make sure you are using the newest version of your browser. Some older browsers are no longer fully supported like IE 6
I recommend that you clear your browser's cache and temporary internet files to make sure that they are not causing your issue. This is often caused by a corrupted file in the browser. Please clear your browser's cookies by following the instructions on the link below:
*For Internet Explorer browser: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Delete
*For Google Chrome: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Clear Browsing Data
*For Firefox: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Clear Now
(other browsers are similar)

I suggest you connect using HTTPS. To do that, follow the steps below:
1. Go to https://account.live.com (if that doesnt work try this link https://www.hotmail.com instead)
2. Under Other options click on Connect with HTTPS
3. Choose Use HTTPS automatically
4. Click on Save
If you are using Safari or are on a Mac drop the "s" in https. If that doesnt work try this method
1. Sign in through this link: https://account.live.com/ManageSSL
2. Choose Don't use HTTPS when I sign in to Hotmail
3. Click on Save.
The Hotmail Engineering team has identified the issue with the Safari 5.0 browser. The team is working on a solution in a future update. If you’re able to upgrade your browser, the problem should be resolved. Or, if you’re not able to upgrade, Hotmail recommends using a different browser for Mac, such as Firefox or Chrome. Hi AppleFan77,
Since you've already tried other browsers on your Macbook Air, we would need more details to investigate the issue. Please answer the following questions:
- Does the issue occur using a different browser?
- Did you make any changes to your account/computer before the issue occur? If yes, please provide us the step-by-step procedures you have taken on your account.
- Does the issue occur using another account on your browser/computer?
Thanks,
Judith
