Outlook.com is not working on Mac

I cannot access outlook.com on my macbook pro since last week. It was working fine and now I can log in to my outlook email but all the hyperlinks are not working and the interface is really strange.
Please help me to solve this problem!
Thanks

If you are still experiencing the problem please try the following, it has helped some (but by no means all) users.

Have you tried to access your account using another browser or computer? Does the same issue happen?
First make sure you are using the newest version of your browser.  Some older browsers are no longer fully supported like IE 6

I recommend that you clear your browser's cache and temporary internet files to make sure that they are not causing your issue. This is often caused by a corrupted file in the browser. Please clear your browser's cookies by following the instructions on the link below:

*For Internet Explorer browser: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Delete
*For Google Chrome: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Clear Browsing Data
*For Firefox: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Clear Now
(other browsers are similar)

I suggest you connect using HTTPS. To do that, follow the steps below:
1. Go to https://account.live.com (if that doesnt work try this link https://www.hotmail.com instead)
2. Under Other options click on Connect with HTTPS
3. Choose Use HTTPS automatically
4. Click on Save

If you are using Safari or are on a Mac drop the "s" in https.
If that doesnt work try this method

1. Sign in through this link: https://account.live.com/ManageSSL
2. Choose Don't use HTTPS when I sign in to Hotmail
3. Click on Save.

The Hotmail Engineering team has identified the issue with the Safari 5.0 browser.  The team is working on a solution in a future update.  If you’re able to upgrade your browser, the problem should be resolved.  Or, if you’re not able to upgrade, Hotmail recommends using a different browser for Mac, such as Firefox or Chrome. The following article includes links to browser providers: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/outlook/supported-browsers.

The above method works, but when I sign out and sign in again the same problem occurs. FYI my operating system is mountain lion and I am using Chrome as my internet browser.

Hi,

If you are facing errors in Google Chrome, I suggest you try using Firefox and see if the problem still persist.

Thanks!

I am still unable to use Outlook.com with any browser.  (Safari, Firefox, Chrome)  I am running Mountain Lion and have the latest Macbook Air and have tried all of the above steps without success. I am able to login but when I try to select a mail subfolder the progress indicator just keeps scrolling.  I can't possibly be the only one with this problem.

Any other suggestions?

Hi AppleFan77,

Since you've already tried other browsers on your Macbook Air, we would need more details to investigate the issue. Please answer the following questions:

  • Does the issue occur using a different browser?
  • Did you make any changes to your account/computer before the issue occur? If yes, please provide us the step-by-step procedures you have taken on your account.
  • Does the issue occur using another account on your browser/computer?

Thanks,

Judith

Eric,

I have the same issue.  I believe MS is working on the issue.  I have found a workaround that I think works, at least temporarily.

Make sure you have at least one email in your inbox.  For some reason when I have at least one email in my inbox I am then able to select the subfolders.

Let me know if that works for you.   Quite infuriating as I am sure this must be affecting many users.
