Outlook.com doesn't "remember me," and I have to sign in each time I open it.

This is a problem that started two days ago.  When I try and open outlook to send/receive/review e-mails, it asks me to sign in to my Microsoft account each time.  I click "remember me," but that does not help.

What can I do to avoid having to repeatedly sign in?

Thank you for your help!

Hi there,

1. Security on Outlook.com is being tightened.

FYI... All account related issues are now dealt with  here
Select the error you need help with and fill out the requested details on the next page.
You can read further information about codes & blocked accounts here

2. There are a few reasons why you cant stay logged in.

1-Your browser is set to delete cookies on exit
2-A new security feature has been added
3-A policy has prohibited it on the machine
4-Misc browser issues.

*

It is possible that your browser option to delete browsing history upon exit is enabled.

Please follow these steps and edit this setting.
1. Open your Internet Explorer.
2. Press and hold Alt key then press "T", you will go to Tools menu of Internet Explorer.
3. Select Internet Options.
4. Under General tab look for Browsing history.
5. Untick Delete browsing history on exit.
6. Click Apply and Ok.
Close your browser and start a new session.
 *

It is one of the new security changes.
Part of the change in service include some increased security measures to cut down on the frequency and ease of hacking.

The new log in ensures a more secure way of preventing unauthorized access to your Live ID accounts.
After all if you remain logged in it is an invitation for Hackers to access your account readily to create their mayhem.
No further updates are available on whether or not it will revert back to the previous format.

You could try to click 'keep me signed in' so you will not need to enter your account ID, but you still need to enter your password each time.
*
Change the policy in gpedit (or contact the Admin if in a corp environment)

*

Optimize your browser by using the instructions here

Yes, it does.  As you can see, I'm presently having the same problem with Outlook as I am IE 10 ~ I must repeatedly sign in.

With that said, it does seem like I've had an inordinate amount of issues with Outlook.  Per your suggestion on another thread, I'm in the process of downloading Windows 8.1 now, with the hope that may resolve  some issues.

I believe we'll find that your Outlook.com problem is related to your IE10 problem. Please stick to that thread for now to avoid duplication of effort. THX

I have downloaded and installed 8.1, and it is now fully patched.  Apart from the fact my tiles have lost the labels and icons, and I have an annoying black/orange arrow from the left side of my screen reminding me to swipe from the edge to change apps, the problem with Outlook and IE persists.

If you were sitting here right now, I'd kiss you...on the lips and in full public view!

My major problems have been resolved.  Outlook, and the web pages I most often visit that require signing in are working properly...Thank you so very much for your help!
