Outlook-Verizon/AOL email sync problem

After Microsoft updated, we can no longer see anything in our Inbox for our Verizon.net emails.

No errors display.

we have done the due diligence re-entering the account info. deleting and re-creating the account.

I spent two hours with the big box "nerd herd" support, and over an hour with the AOL support people.

it was working before, but now does not.

I can send emails from this account.

I am receiving the emails to my account. I can see the on the aol website login.

I can see the emails on the Microsoft mail.

I can see them on the smart phone.

the outlook inbox shows empty.

incoming port is 993, outgoing port is 465

we exhausted all the possible avenues of entering, changing, deleting, recreating etc of the account.

one odd thing persists as well:

the server information keeps changing from imap.aol.com to imap.mail.yahoo.com for the incoming server

and smtp.mail.yahoo.com for the outgoing server

I'm not sure what it means that it keeps getting changed back to the yahoo server, it seems to be some kind of default.

any suggestions?

Someone on another thread about this just replied to me for me to change the settings back to AOL.  Yeah, we get that.  I've done it no less than 15 times.  It changes by itself to yahoo settings every time. I even deleted the account and re-added it - only to have it change back again!

I just received another reply from AOL, make sure the IMAP settings are correct.  Right, how many times must I do this.

Just on the phone for an hour with AOL. I really think this is a microsoft issue.

Microsoft?  Outlook changes AOL imap settings to yahoo settings every time.

Started on 22 Sept.

We are having the same issue.  I deleted the account and tried to re-add it, but Outlook does not ask for account servers.  It automatically assumes imap.mail.yahoo.com and fails on the password every time.  There does not see to be a way in Outlook to modify this with the latest Outlook 365 update.  Another laptop that I have is working still because it has not updated yet.

Unless there has been a fix, I think it will eventually happen to all the devices. I eventually logged In at AOL mail and poked around until I found a link that would become the new password for one? device. I have Outlook on any number of devices and eventually deleted any AOL/Verizon accounts that were not working in favor of using the AOL on my Android or checking online. Frankly, it was too frustrating to keep trying to fix it on my various devices and then to do the same for my wife's.

Hours of reading and applying fixes to come to this conclusion.  AOL does not want the program to work with others, and by making it impossible to use with any other program they promote their own.  I was told by one AOL rep to buy their Gold program and quit wasting my time with other inferior products.  After their tech actually arguing that "Yes you can afford it even if retired" I was told to get the app and disconnected from the help line.

Arrogance!

I have the exact same question.  My Verizon email is working fine (incoming/outgoing) on my iphone, on the aol website and in MacMail.  I can still send messages in Outlook but Incoming mail hasn't worked since last Wed 10/24.  This is so frustrating!  Does anybody have any fixes?
