Outlook opening facebook without a password

Why is it that if I click the link in an outlook email about a post on facebook that outlook opens facebook without me having to enter my facebook username or password? How can I turn this functionality off? Normally if I log into face book on my PC I have to enter the user name and password every time but these mail links seem to bypass that security.

Rob

Hi Robert,

It is possible that the AutoComplete feature has been enabled on your browser. Here is a link that will help you disable this feature::

Remember passwords.

Thanks for the response Rolando. However it is not the auto complete.

If I browse to facebook from Edge or any other search platform I always have to type  in my username and login - I never take the "remember me" or "stayed logged in" options as this is a shared computer. However if I get an  email notification about activity in my account then clicking the link in the outlook email automatically logs me into facebook. This seems wrong as it bypasses the normal security.

Rob, here's the answer ^^.

Click "FILE", then click "Options", then click "Add-Ins".

In the list of Add-Ins, look for the "Outlook Social Connector 2013" add-In, select it, and click "Go..."

In the list of COM Add-Ins, uncheck the box for "Outlook Social Connector 2013" and click "OK".

Restart Outlook.

Now, clicking on that "Go to Facebook" link will take you to a page where you need to login to Facebook before proceeding.

Good luck !

Max

Thanks for the help Max. I have disabled this Add-In so hopefully that is the fix. As a work arround I had turned off Face book notifications but will switch them back on now .Your suggested fix would appear to  be what I needed.

Thanks again for helping
