Hello dellUSER3
You've posted your question in the Outlookcom forum focused on accessing an Outlook.com account via webmail (your browser) but the question seems to indicate (i.e. Windows mail works fine) that your question is in regards to using the Outlook desktop program (part of the Office suite).
So assuming that this does actually relate to Outlook desktop
You don't mention what version of Outlook this applies to so going to provide information on the various possibilities that could cause the issue you're running into
#1 - The Google setting for "Use of Less Secure Apps"
Less secure apps & your Google Account

#2 - 2 Factor authentication enabled requiring an <App Password>

#3 - Information applicable if you have the latest updates to Outlook 365

Hi,
Thank you for your response, tried that , still not working. Also tried a reset, still doesn't work.
I've also tried deleting 1 of my accounts and re adding, but now can't re add due to the same error message.

Hi Karl,
Thank you for your response.
Yes this does relate to the outlook desktop app.
I am using Outlook 2016 version 16051.11727.20244.0 (however my outlook does change to 365 now and then , then goes back to 2016).
I have all the latest windows updates installed.
Tried all of the above, still no luck.
The problem only seems to be on Microsoft Outlook, all other email apps work fine.
The exact error message is as follows:
"Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for ***@gmail.com.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for ***@gmail.com. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'"

You marked by original response as "Does not resolve the issue" - It would have been really useful to have included all applicable error information in the original description Would not have responded with my original suggestions since those are absolutely not applicable based on the new "relevant" information provided.
In any case, can't replicate the problem connecting Gmail accounts and have never encountered the error. Hopefully someone else here has direct experience with this specific issue.
That said, if this was something I ran into given the additional info you provided, the following are two things I would try
#1 - Ensure that you don't have a trial version of Office 365 installed. If you do, uninstall it and then do a full <online repair> for '2016 to ensure that everything is set correctly. Doubt this is the cause of the problem but is something that should be done in any case.
#2 -To eliminate the possibility of a corrupt Outlook profile, would create a new Outlook profile using the Control Panel <Mail> app (with Outlook closed), configure the Gmail account, make sure that the new profile is set as the default for the next time Outlook is opened and see if the problem resolves itself.
