Hello

Please i need your help on this issue.

I am experiencing issues with Outlook on mobile devices. Specifically, PDFs are not opening properly, and there seems to be a sync problem with IMAP on iPhones.

Dear bassey1

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Are you experiencing PDF and IMAP account synchronization problem in outlook on iPhone?

Can you tell me what error is displayed when the PDF cannot be opened? Meanwhile, what extension is used in the iPhone mailboxes that cannot be synchronized?

Because of this can not confirm the specific cause of your PDF opening error and can not confirm your use of the mailbox extension and IMAP synchronization of specific problems, can not be accurately resolved for you.

For PDF in the iPhone outlook can not open the problem, here is the test is normal, you can try to use the computer through the web page Outlook to see if the PDF can be opened normally, so as to rule out the PDF file itself whether there is a problem.

If Web Outlook can be opened normally, you can try it in iPhone:

- Reboot the device by long-pressing the power button on the iPhone, and check whether the system version on the iPhone indicates that it needs to be upgraded, if so, please upgrade to the latest version.

- Make sure you are using the latest version of Outlook, if you have an older version of Outlook, please upgrade to the latest version to ensure compatibility.

- If it still doesn't work, you can remove Outlook program from your phone, and then re-download and reinstall Outlook through the App Store.

Meanwhile, for your IMAP synchronization problem, we will inform you here first:

-IMAP and POP are not synchronized protocols that can synchronize calendars, contacts, etc. They can only synchronize emails. They can only synchronize emails.

-Your email provider must use Micosoft Exchange ActiveSync. The most common providers (e.g. Gmail) use this service, so if you are not using Outlook.com or a Microsoft 365 account for business, please contact your email provider.

The process can follow the scenario below:

Check that Calendar is enabled for your account:

- Go to the Calendar in the Outlook app and tap the three lines in the upper left-hand corner.

- Under your email accounts, make sure "Calendar" is selected.

- If your email address is not displayed in the list, it's not set up using Exchange ActiveSync. You'll have to delete and re-add your account and make sure not to use IMAP.

Check that access to Contacts is allowed for Outlook:

- For iOS: Open the Settings app > scroll down and tap Outlook > Contacts and Background App Refresh should be on.

- For Android: Open phone Settings > Applications > Outlook > Make sure Contacts is enabled.

- Then open the Outlook app and go to Settings > tap on your account > tap Sync Contacts.

Troubleshoot calendar and contacts in the Outlook mobile app

- In the Outlook app, go to Settings Outlook app settings> Tap the account that is not syncing > Tap Reset Account. Check to see if your account is syncing.

- If that doesn't work, delete and re-add your email account:

- From Settings Outlook app settings, tap the account that is not syncing > tap Delete Account > Delete From This Device.
