Outlook Calendar--sudden visual changes to appearance

I use Outlook calendar everyday.  Sometime in the last 36 hours my calendar took a nutty and now reminds me of the online version that, sadly, I do not like using at all.  Has anyone else seen this on occur?  Is there any way to return to the former, and much superior, version?  I'm really eager to get the old view back.  Thanks in advance.

If your calendar looks very different from mine, I hope you can share a screenshot of what you see, so that I can know your specific scenario. In the meanwhile, please provide a screenshot of Outlook version, File > Office Account > entire screenshot of the Product Information. (remove the PII please).

Hi,

Below is a jpeg of my calendar.  See how each listing now has a yellow edge and a number for the items not shown?  It is so distracting and completely overshadows my own, critical to me, color coding. I'm not sure if my organization will let me back out of this update but I'm about ready to beg them. Thanks for your interest.

I guess maybe it accidentally marked yellow category for these events, I suggest you check this, see my screenshot:

In the meanwhile, may I know your Outlook version, File > Office Account > Product Information.
