Dear Bryan JosueGonzalez Luna,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

I understand that you are receiving Error “Something Went Wrong [1001]”. I do apologize for the inconvenience, but recently we have received a number of requests on this, and this error considered as a known issue. Currently, the Microsoft 365 teams are investigating this issue by analyzing logs provided by some affected users. Therefore, I will update this thread as soon as I get more detail information about the query and fix. For additional information, you can refer to Error “Something Went Wrong [1001]” signing in to Microsoft 365 Desktop Applications - Microsoft Support

In the meantime, as a workaround you can use Outlook on the web or reboot your computer when the issue starts. Ans also, you may follow the steps below for temporary resolution:

To provide temporary relief these steps may help:

  1. Rebooting the device often helps to mitigate the issue.

  2. Run the commandlets below in user mode PowerShell to repair WAM. For more context see article, Fix authentication issues in Office applications when you try to connect to a Microsoft 365 service.

    Add-AppxPackage -Register "$env:windir\SystemApps\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy\Appxmanifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode -ForceApplicationShutdown

    Add-AppxPackage -Register "$env:windir\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.CloudExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy\Appxmanifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode -ForceApplicationShutdown

Also, if you have the organization admin permission, you can also raise a service request to report this symptom to our online channel through the O365 admin center. A support agent can further connect with you remotely, for further troubleshooting and involve the backend team where need be. Get support for Microsoft 365 for business -- Online support.

I will also revert back when I get more info on this. Your patience and cooperation are much appreciated.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

Sincerely,

Libeamlak | Microsoft Community Moderator

Bom dia,

Peguei um caso deste com a conta de uma colaboradora e o que fiz foi o seguinte.

Entrei com a minha conta corporativa e em seguida removi a conta da colaboradora, logo fiz a configuração da conta dela novamente e assim foi resolvido o problema.

Hi,

we had the same issue on one user account and could also solve it by deleting and creating a new Profile.

The coworker recently got a new laptop and it turned out that one IT guy copied the whole user profile (including AppData\Local, Roaming etc.) from the old device to the new one. We deleted the original profile (From another account, Settings -> System -> Info -> Advanced System settings -> User profile Settings -> Delete the faulty profile) and only transferred data like Documents, Pictures, Desktop etc. to the new profile, and the issue was gone.

Removing the 'Work or School Account' has worked for me multiple times. Funny thing is, when you sign directly into OneDrive or any 365 apps, your login stays even though it never shows up under 'Work or School Account'. No idea if this is now depreciated, or what.

To access this menu, type in "Access work or school" in Windows search bar.

This resolved my Windows connection issues as well (Error 1 001/Code 3399811147) across Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, etc.) - I was previously getting connection errors on desktop apps, even though web browser site versions worked fine.
