Outlook 365 Delivery confirmation

Hello, I have sent a few emails and checked delivery tracking. They did arrive as they were tests to other email accounts of mine. When I look at the sent message I cannot find the 'show' and 'tracking' buttons that MS says should appear below or in the Message area. Any ideas? Thanks, Russ

Hi Russ,
Is this an Outlook.com account configured in Outlook desktop? Did the tracking confirmation come back to you? Double click to open it then see if the tracking shows on the sent item. Not all tracking results will update the message - it depends on whether the TNEF data was removed.

A few minutes after you receive the tracking email, the sent message will be updated and you'll see the tracking icon. That means it will have the tracking command available.

If you receive this message: "Delivery to these recipients or groups is complete, but no delivery notification was sent by the destination server", it wont update the tracking.

Hi Diann,

This was two email sends I did from my outlook desktop. One was from my gmail account and the other was from a verizon.net account. I tagged both for delivery tracking and they arrived at the destination. I did not receive any confirmation emails back and I see no type of tracking when I looked at the sent emails. Maybe I need to turn something else on??

Did you mark the messages read or delete them unread from the deleted items folder? If you mark a message read (or delete it unread) and get the receipt back outlook should process it within a few minutes. However, not all servers return receipts.

The delivered receipt is generated by the server - if it is processable, outlook will process it within a few minutes but in some cases you might need to open it. Not all delivery receipts can be processed (such as the one from gmail).

I am using my yahoo.com address as one test receiver account. I sent two to it and opened both emails but left them in the inbox. So far nothing back to my verizon.net email or my gmail.com account, which are both in Outlook. Maybe yahoo won't confirm?
