Outlook 365 Alias Email Address Question

When receiving emails in Outlook to an alias account, how do you determine which alias it's from? Can I set up some rule that it puts it in a certain folder or something else to help tell me which account this is dealing with? As it's set up right now, it's indistinguishable which account the email was sent to. Is there something I can do? Thanks in advance.

Answer

Hi Benjamin,

Based on your description, you'd like to identify incoming emails by alias. In this scenario, please first open the received emails in new window and navigate to File > Properties. In Internet headers, copy the entire line of To: field. This field displays which email address/aliases the senders put in To field.

Then you can create an inbox rule like the picture below. When the incoming emails arrive with specific words in the message header, then move it to specific folder.

Regards,

Marvin
