Not receiving any Junk email so missing the opportunity to get emails from new contacts. Using Outlook.com.

 This just seemed to happen randomly about 6 months ago. It is the same whether I use the Standard or Exclusive Filter

I have referred to this doc and checked everything as it lists them.

Please help as I am missing out on some important emails from new senders that they swear they have sent.  Thanks

I would like to know some details in order to assist you better.

1.  How do you access your e-mails? Do you use web browser or e-mail program?

2.  Is the issue specific to one sender?

3.   Are you able to receive e-mails from other contacts or senders?

As a workaround, send a test e-mail to your account and check if you receive it. I suggest you to check if any rules are created for the sender’s e-mail.

  1. Log into http://outlook.com
  2. Towards the top right hand corner, click the gear icon.
  3. Among the dropdown list, choose Manage Rules.
  4. Check if any rules are created.

I sign in via:  

Outlook.com
https://www.live.com/

Yes I do receive emails from other contacts.

2.  Is the issue specific to one sender? 

No it is not just one sender.  It seems to be anyone who is not in my Contacts list and that I have never received an email from previously.

I was able to send a test email to myself.

There are no rules created.  Thanks

Here are some further details on my problem:

Hi.  Starting randomly about 6 months ago my Hotmail email account did not receive any junk mail.  First noticed when the usual daily dose of junk ceased and then people expecting responses from me to their emails contacting to see why I hadn't responded.

Seems to be happening only from senders I have had no previous email contact with, but not all which seems to suggest there is some filter active.

Also, of the emails that I know of to have not been received, none of them would have be in my Blocked Senders list.

I access my Hotmail account through my browser, Chrome but have also had the problem accessing through Firefox.

1. I have tried both the Standard and Exclusive filters- no change

2. There are no Rules in operation

3. I can send an email to myself (a suggested workaround)

4. I have posed the question on the Microsoft Community, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, no joy.

5. I have been through the Microsoft checklist: Filters and Reporting Inbox/Options/Filters and reporting and tried all alternatives

6. I deleted all my Blocked Senders List.


I would really appreciate any help that anyone could provide me.  Thank you

In the meantime I have posed this question to the Microsoft Help Desk Live Chat and still was not able to get a solution.
