mymts.net change to outlook.com

I have been doing some research and preparation for migrating a couple of my families email accounts away from mymts.net to outlook.com as I understand that MTS is changing mail providers (again).

What I would like to do is this:

  1. Create outlook.com alias that is same address just different domain. For example: I have the address abc123 @mymts.net and I would like to create the alias abc123 @outlook.com under the same account
  2. I would like to change the primary account to be abc123 @outlook.com but still have abc123 @mymts.net still functional once MTS unlocks it. (I checked their forum and they say they will)
  3. Once required, use MTS's tool to migrate abc123 @mymts.net to MTS servers and still have both email's functioning properly.
  4. Forward mail from abc123 @mymts.net to abc123 @outlook.com so as to receive mail at both addresses.

Now I get stuck at step one. When trying to create the @outlook.com alias, I cannot use the same address because it says it is already taken. I have tried this on three different accounts. I even attempted to create a brand new account but it still says the address is taken.

I have been watching these:

I really need this to work.

Thanks,

Carl

Since the sites software hides email addresses we have no way of knowing what you mean.  Can you try it again?

I think I fixed it. I added a space between before the @ to fool the system.

Thanks,

Just to add, I fixed the question but the problem still remains. I need to be able to do this.

I found out this isn't actually an issue, people actually have accounts with those email addresses. So I am stuck with creating completely new address.
