Microsoft Outlook does not recognise my password even after resetting it several times, so I can not update my emails.

Microsoft Outlook will not recognise my password despite having reset the password several times through Authenticator. What can I do to fix this, anyone?

Dear Emily Bowden1,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

Knowing your problem,I am morning, I am honored to answer your question!

If you're having trouble logging into your hotmail account on your PC, which may be related to Microsoft's new authentication, all mailboxes that previously used basic verification will no longer be available after September 16, 2024. You will need to switch your account to the new authentication style before you can log in again. You can refer to the guide below to learn how to do this:

1.First of all, please make sure that the system version of the outlook application you are using is no later than 11601.10000. Click on "File -office Account" in outlook, where you can view your outlook product information.

2. If you are using a version of outlook that supports the new authenticator,

You can try creating a new account profile and then select "outlook.com" as the account type in the new account profile to see how it goes.try these steps:

Try the above tests and reviews first, and feel free to comment below and let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, I hope everything goes well with you!

Best Regards ,

Dear Help provider,

With all due respect, this guidance does not help. Put simply, I did not ask for Windows Mail & Calendar to be superseded by Outlook and after changing my MS password via Co-Pilot it does not recognise my new password at all, and I could only access Webmail which is far from ideal.

I have tried a forum suggestion of uninstalling Outlook (new) and doing the advanced Reset on Mail & Calendar. it works for a brief time (i.e. minutes) but Outlook (new) always returns to overhaul it, then I undergo the same failed rigmarole and loop where I'm stuck without access to either mail application.

Can someone please explain (preferably in layman terms) :-

1) Why can't users retain Mail and Calendar instead of Outlook (new) if that is what they were happy with?

2) If they have to instead use Outlook (new) what's the issue with my PW not being accepted, and when will this be fixed?

Please find & advise me of a solution. My name is Bill McDonald, based in Walsall, UK, and my patience is running thin.
