Hi EdLeonard,
I understand the frustration, when things don’t work as expected.
The cause for this issue might be that, the Hide pointer while typing is selected.
I suggest you to follow the steps below to uncheck if the Hide pointer while typing is selected.
Step 1:
Steps to uncheck Hide pointer while typing in Windows 7 Operating system.
- Click on the Start button to open the start menu.
- Type "Control panel" in the search field.
- Select the "Change how the mouse pointer looks" link in the search results:
- Windows 7 will open the Mouse Properties dialog: make sure that the "Pointer Options" tab is selected. Look at the last group of options ("Visibility" settings).
- The second checkbox reads "Hide pointer while typing", and is unchecked by default; to activate this setting, check the checkbox and click on the "Apply" button (to preview the effect) or "OK" button (to apply this change and return to Windows).
You may also follow the link below for more information on Mouse settings in Windows 7.

If the issue persist, follow step 3.
Step 3:
Your browser automatically saves temporary Internet files which might be the cause. Resetting Internet Explorer can sometimes fix the issue.
Follow the link below to reset Internet Explorer.

Note: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature.
