I'm having the same issue with my signatures on Outlook 2013! They look perfect when we preview it, but the recipients receive a much bigger picture of my massages.
This is a earlier version of Outlook, I was expecting that we could have more options... You can't define to paste the image in the same dimensions of the original file. Why Outlook does such thing?
I have a display of 3K on my computer, could be because of that?
I'm sending my signature below.

Hello Marko,
You may try to remove and re-create the signature and check if it works as expected.
You may create a new Outlook profile configuring the email account in Outlook and check if it works as expected.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/create-an-outlook-profile-HA102749460.aspx
If Outlook works as expected, you may refer to the following articles which provides information about how to configure internet email account in Outlook 2013.

I hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further help.

Correct.
The original image is 264 x 73 pixels, set to 96 dpi. When I insert the image, the resulting *.htm file sets the images to 396 x 110. Here is the entire section of the HTML.
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='<!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" o:preferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f"> <v:stroke joinstyle="miter"/> <v:formulas> <v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"/> </v:formulas> <v:path o:extrusionok="f" gradientshapeok="t" o:connecttype="rect"/> <o:lock v:ext="edit" aspectratio="t"/> </v:shapetype><v:shape id="_x0000_i1025" type="#_x0000_t75" style='width:198pt; height:55pt'> <v:imagedata src="Brian_files/image001.jpg" o:title="BrianChristopher"/> </v:shape><![endif]--><![if !vml]><img width=396 height=110 src="Brian_files/image002.jpg" v:shapes="_x0000_i1025"><![endif]></span><span style='<o:p></o:p></span></p>
I make the changes to the original image dimensions and the signature looks good in IE and on my emails before sending. Once it is sent, the resulting image for the recipient is back to 396 x 110, set to 144 dpi.
Any advise you can give would be appreciated.
Another interesting observation is there are two image files in my htm signature folder, image001.jpg and image002.jpg. Image001.jpg has the correct dimensions of the original image, 264 x 73 and image002,jpg has the dimensions of what the recipients are seeing, 396 x 110.
Another interesting observation...When I save the image while I am composing an email, it have the 264 x 73 dimensions. When I save the image from the sent files, it has the 396 x 110 dimensions.
Brian

Hi All,
Just wondering if there has been any update on this issue?
Is it the HTML 5, OS 8, 8.1 or O365 Issue?
Kind Regards,
