iCloud installation overlaid outlook calendar entries

I loaded iCloud on my Win 11 computer to be able to access iCloud photos. It asked to sync calendar and contacts. I don't rely on my iPhone for this but allowed it thinking it would sync Outlook to iCloud. it went the other way and replaced my years of calendar entries with 5 stray iPhone entries from years past. So, Outlook now has only these entries and nothing else. Is there a way to reverse this and get my data back?

Dear jimike406

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are facing with your Outlook calendar entries after installing iCloud on your Windows 11 computer. It sounds like the syncing process may have overwritten your existing Outlook calendar with the limited entries from your iPhone.

To address this issue and try to restore your lost calendar entries, you can consider the following steps:

  1. Check iCloud settings: Make sure to review the iCloud settings on your computer and iPhone to ensure that the syncing preferences are set correctly. You may need to adjust the settings to prevent any further overwriting of data.

  2. Restore from backup: If you have a backup of your Outlook calendar entries, you can attempt to restore the data from the backup file. Check if you have any recent backups available that contain your calendar entries and import them into Outlook.

  3. Check deleted items: Sometimes, the overwritten calendar entries may still be present in the deleted items or trash folder of Outlook. Check these folders to see if you can recover any of the lost entries.

It's important to act promptly to prevent any further data loss and to attempt to restore your important calendar entries. Remember to backup your data regularly in the future to prevent such incidents from occurring again.

I hope these steps help you in recovering your lost calendar entries and resolving the syncing issue between iCloud and Outlook. If you need further assistance or have any other questions, feel free to ask. Best of luck in restoring your data.

It is hoped that the above recommendations will provide you with help.

Best Regards
