I cannot receive any password reset emails

Recently I tried to reset my passwords for 2 online accounts IKEA and Regatta, Neither emails have arrived on my inbox or junk. I have been into my junk email setting and there is nothing to display in any of the sub categories. There are no text boxes or nothing it's just a blank screen on google, how ever on internet explorer I can see the sub categories an neither of those domains are in the blocked senders etc. I have added them to my safe senders lists bit they still aren't coming through!!. I am very concerned that I will not be able to reset an of my passwords. Do you have a fix for this please?

Problems receiving password reset emails to your Outlook account is possibly related to a filter or a rule settings applied to your account. To better assist you, can you answer the following questions:

  • Do you get any error messages when you request for a password reset email?
  • Have you tried clearing the browsers cache, cookies, and history?
  • Can you check the inbox and sweep rules? (Click on the gear icon> Mail> Under Automatic processing> click Inbox and sweep rules.
  • Do you have filters activated? If yes, have you tried removing them and check the result?(Click on the gear icon> Options> Under Junk email> Please check the Blocked senders, Safe mailing lists, Safe senders, and Filters and reporting)

In the meantime, we suggest that you try the steps stated in this support website: I didn't receive an email someone sent to my Outlook.com account.  This article contains troubleshooting steps that you can perform to help you address your query.

I experience the same problem, not getting password reset from some websites.

I already tried the suggested steps, and make sure that the sender is not in the blocked list. But I still don't get the email.

I tried to add the sender in the contact list, and I received the password reset email from certain website. But this method does not work all the time. 

Hope you can resolve this problem.

  • Are you accessing your emails through the Outlook application or Outlook.com?

Yes

  • Are you accessing your emails through the Outlook application or Outlook.com?

Both through app and website

  • Are you experiencing the issue with one contact only?

Mostly with password reset emails. 

After adding the sender address to my contact list, I finally received the email.

Thank you for the information you provided. Did you set any rules on your account? Have you checked the Junk folder?

I never set any rules. 

Yes, I did check, but the email didn't get into junk folder either.

Have you received any emails from password reset emails before? If yes, we suggest that you try to add the email address to the Safe Senders list. You can check this article for the steps on how to add the account to the list if you're using the Outlook application. You can follow the steps on this link if you're going to use Outlook.com.
