Hello Libra Fine Arts,

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft community.

As per your description, it seems like that you are experiencing an issue in Outlook where attempting to add a hyperlink to your email signature results in unexpected behavior. The hyperlink entry box does not allow typing or pasting, and any text pasted ends up in the email body behind the hyperlink dialog box.

There could be multiple reasons for your scenario, for example:

  • A temporary bug in the Outlook client might cause the hyperlink dialog box to malfunction.

  • Incorrect scaling settings could cause UI elements, such as the hyperlink box, to behave incorrectly.

  • A version of Outlook with unresolved bugs could be the source of this behavior.

  • Corrupt profile settings or cached data might be interfering with the signature editor.

  • A third-party add-in might be disrupting normal Outlook functions.

As you know, the process/ navigation method depends on which type of app version/ license/ subscription you have. To better understand your issue, I need some addition information so that we can narrow down the main reason and find out the root cause by working together:

  • What's your affected user ID or domain?

  • May I know your affected account type and subscription/ license details?

  • Is it Microsoft 365 business, (basic, standard, premium, enterprise (E3/E5)), educational or Microsoft Personal account (outlook.com/Hotmail.com/live.com) or any third-party account?

  • Have you updated Outlook to the latest version?

  • Which version of Outlook are you using (e.g., desktop client, web app, or mobile)?

  • Are you using the Classic (Legacy) or New Outlook interface on your Mac?

  • Which version of Mac are you currently using (take screenshot)?

  • Are you using a specific theme or high-DPI display settings on your device?

  • Have you tried editing your email signature in a different mode, such as Safe Mode or another device?

  • Are there any third-party add-ins or extensions enabled in Outlook?

Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Thanks for choosing the MS community.

Looking forward to your response and have a great day ahead!!

Sincerely

Same issue. It's embarrasing because I need to change my signature to our new thing! I'm on a Macbook Sequoia 15.3.2 and tried on Edge and Firefox. The work around folks is to type something up in word and copy and paste it in. Cannot add hyperlink directly.

You could also create the hyperlink in an email draft and copy from there into your signature since the hyperlink feature still works within a normal email.
