Do you sign-in to the same Live ID (AKA Microsoft account) to access your *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account as you do to access your *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account?

Hello starnettesinclair,

Thank you for posting here.

I understand that you are asking on how to transfer your email messages from your MSN account to your Outlook.com account.

Please be informed that your MSN account and Outlook.com is almost the same, they may just have a difference on user interface and some features. If you have the same account name or log in with Outlook.com and MSN, then your email messages should be automatically transferred to Outlook.com.

If you have further questions, please post back.

Regards.

I'm retiring and don't really have the money to spend on my msn.com account anymore.  I've created a free outlook.com email account and want to transfer all of my existing emails from (outlook client) on msn.com to the free outlook.com account, and then cancel my msn.com account.  How do I do that?

Thanks.

You needn't be an MSN Premium subscriber in order to access your msn.com account.

If you open your browser to https://outlook.com & sign in to your MSN account [AKA Microsoft account], all of your messages & folders should still be there after your MSN Premium subscription expires.

Or you can just sign in to http://www.msn.com/ & click on the blue Outlook.com icon located in the upper-left, just below the MSN butterfly. Both will take you to the same place.

Translation: MSN Mail and Hotmail and Windows Live Hotmail are all Outlook.com mail now. [Yes, it's all very confusing!]

PS: "Outlook client" means MS Outlook (part of MS Office) here.

Yes - my concern was that when I cancelled the MSN subscription, I would then be completely locked out, and would never be able to retrieve all of my existing emails.

If you are correct - all I need to do is cancel it and continue to sign into Outlook with my @msn,com sign-on!

Thank you!
