How to fix error code 0xcoooo142

Dear Phil,

I am an independent advisor, and I am trying to help other users in Community with my experience in Microsoft products.

You can find information about Error 0xC0000142 when you start an Office 2016 application here https://support.office.com/en-us/article/error-... Please update your Office and it should work

We have looked at the support office link above. Unfortunately we cannot open Microsoft outlet to get into the file> account > to complete the update  as suggested.

Dear Phil,

And why you cannot open it ? Try to open another Office app, for example Word and File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.

Also try to open it in Safe mode https://support.office.com/en-us/article/open-o... and update
