How can I get the new Outlook app Calander to sync with the Agenda in SystemTray?

After switching to try out the "New Outlook" my agenda as displayed in the SystemTray when you click on your clock does not sync anymore. Everynow and then I switch back to the Classic versions and the agenda immediately updates. Then I switch back and It stops syncing again. I've taken to ignoring the agenda which is a shame and just looking at my Teams calendar mostly.

Dear Scott Manktelow,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

As per the description you have shared, I understand that you have a concern with syncing Outlook app calendar with the agenda in System tray.

I have been testing your query from my side, based on my test result, the agendas created in the system tray will sync to the new Outlook calendar as expected, you can refer to the screenshot below.

.

Therefore, to better understand the issue and provide possible solution, we need more details from you, please kindly provide us the following information. Thanks in advance!

  • What the account type you are using? is it Exchange, IMAP or POP email account?

  • May I please double confirm if your tried on different network environment? if not, please kindly try with different network environment such as public Wi-Fi.

  • May I please confirm if you able to access your agendas in the Outlook on the web? if not, you can try to login outlook web app ( https://outlook.office.com/) with the account in question and check if the issue persists. This will narrow down if the issue is with the account or the app itself.

  • You may also try to restart your device and Outlook to see the difference.

I look forward to your update. Kindly note that the above requested information is required for further analysis and troubleshooting of your situation. Your patience and cooperation are much appreciated.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

Sincerely,

I've rebooted and made sure I have the most recent windows updates installed. I looked into the accounts and found something interesting. They seem to be different when I toggle between the legacy/new application.

legacy:

this also matches the "NCPS\065224sm" account I use to log into the computer.

new:

For another quick test I checked the web version and added "Lunch". It immediately synced to the windows app but not the agenda.

I turned off the toggle for "Try the new Outlook" and my new "Lunch" entry was immediately there:

After seeing the difference in accounts I'm guessing that's why, though I don't know what to do about it. The accounts are supposed to be aliased with each other, but I'm guessing something isn't flowing properly through Active Directory.

Dear Scott Manktelow,

Many thanks for your kind update,

I greatly appreciate your time and effort to narrow down the issue from your side. Yes, you are absolutely right, if the account has different email address the calendar sync feature will be affected. To sync calendar items across all platforms we need to have same email account (Log in account).

  • May I please double confirm which of your account is listed in the Outlook on the web?

  • May I please double confirm if your account is on Exchange on-premises, Exchange Hybrid or pure Exchange online environment?

  • Could you please provide us with the screenshot of your account settings in your classic Outlook? You can refer to the screenshot below.

Go to File -->Account settings -->Account Settings --> under email ta, check your all account connect to your Outlook. Please kindly cover your personal information

  • Could you please provide us with the screenshot of your classic Outlook version details? See What version of Outlook do I have? - Microsoft Support

Hi!

I have the same issue as the topic-starter, so, to help you with this, I've decided to provide my answers to the questions.

1. On the web, it's oletri@a***

2. Don't know how to find this out.

3. In Outlook Classic it's the aliased account, the same as in New Outlook, oleg@a***

4. Classic Outlook version info:

Additionaly, the account to log in Windows is oletri@a***

And the accounts page in New Outlook, it's oleg@a***
